Academic Positions Available in East China Normal University (ECNU)
Recently, Professor Lizhong Yu, President of ECNU, visited UCSD and
proposed 3 ECNU development strategies to make the university a leader
in the biomedical sciences in China. The three are International,
Interdisciplinary, and Innovation. In order to match the President's
proposal, ECNU plans to establish a new Department of Bioengineering
and Bioinformatics in collaboration with UCSD Bioengineering
Department and Computer Engineering Department. We are looking for
candidates with various degrees of experience, including 10
professors, 15 associate professor, and 10 lecturers (assistant
professor). The candidates should have strong academic records in
bioengineering and bioinformatics and experience in some of the
following areas: organic synthesis (medicinal science), polymer
science, material science, chemical analytical science, material
physical analytic science, nanomedicinal science, nanodevice science,
high throughp
ut screen science, cell biology, tumor biology, molecular bi
ology, gene therapy, siRNA therapy, molecular imaging, antibody
engineering, computer simulation, etc. Candidates with experience in
drug discovery, stem cell reprogram research, cancer stem cell
research and fibrosis disease therapy are especially sought after for
this revolutionary, cutting-edge program.
This is a great opportunity for scientists planning on an academic
career in China. This program is one of the priority programs at ECNU
with strong support from the University Top Management Team.
The department will be structured following the organizational style
of UCSD, and it is desirable that a majority of the faculty members
have experience working, studying or training in the United States.
The department's mission is to build a world-class Bioengineering and
Bioinformatics Department in China and to provide innovative
breakthroughs in biotechnology that will rapidly translate into
pharmaceutical and medical applications.
