Sales is king to startups for sure, no question about it, however sometimes, things move fast than we expect.
i see quite a few engineer-minded Chinese businessman don't like to plan things well in advance and think those plans are always expendable, unrealistic and has lower priority. Some call this "pai nao dai" )
One of the things that i was trying to say in my last post is: You got to have plans for a few forseeable situations, u have to constantly update them and make sure u can implement them at right time at right place with right people.
It's not the processes themselves but the biz planning. yes it takes time and maybe money, but some basic basic processes are must, no matter when, you can't put them on hold, otherwise, it's just gonna be a mess sooner or later. Imagine yourself like a fireman trying to put off fire here and there especially when orders are coming and u find urself cannot deliever, or u see some trial contracts(not paying contract) coming from tiem to time, but u don't know how to deal with the inventory...All these things may sounds trivial and remote at the initial stage, but u know things in China may appear very slow but sometimes can change overnight.
Before I joined that company, those guys tried many temporary solutions to move things forward, and it seemed ok for a few days or weeks, but soon they found those problem came back and bite them hard.
some bizman are just trying to make the bubble big enough and sell it off later, they don't want to put too much efforts other than building a feature rich and affordable product. However, with such attitude, i don't see how u r gonna make it look real.
