The Position:



Position reports to the Managing Director of Asia Pacific with a dotted line to Asia Pacific HR Director. Acts as a “Strategic Business Partner” and “Coach” to the organization in all relevant HR management issues and lead the HR team to provide the best HR strategies and services to attract, develop, motivate and retain the best talent.



Key Responsibilities:



• Takes active part in the design of the HR Strategic Business Plan (SBP) and manages the execution and control of the plan for the respective support area including retail. Ensures harmonized implementation of strategies across all relevant disciplines across North Asia Pacific region.

• Develop and execute plans to support growth in North Asia Pacific.

• Maintains a high level of communication with Management and contributes to the decision-making process by structuring and preparing HR team to best support the organization. Actively supports business initiatives and business needs with effective HR measures to promote positive employee relations in the work environment.

• Builds an environment that fosters open communication and employee involvement. Creates HR programs, policies and procedures that also convey COMPANY’s core values and culture.

• Ensures all aspects of staffing, employee relations, employee development, and compensation & benefits for all employees of the organization are delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant labor/commercial legislation, corporate guidelines and general HR Management practices.

• Co-ordinates, supports and drives development initiatives in the areas of Training, career/succession planning and other Organizational Development efforts.

• Ensures smooth processes for recruitment and lead the recruitment for 1st and 2nd Line Management for designated positions.

• Manages personnel planning, annual salary rounds and promotions/salary adjustments for defined areas in accordance with corporate processes.

• Ensures strong HR reporting for respective functional areas in close cooperation with Finance.

• Lead Country HR Directors members to give functional direction on Corporate and regional strategies ensuring a harmonized approach to all relevant HR programs.



Key Relationships:

• Managing Director Asia Pacific

• Regional HR Managers in China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan

• Regional Financial Controller

• International Managers Finance, Ops and HR

• Legal Counsel



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Position requires exceptional interpersonal skills. Ability to influence at all levels.

• Experience in managing complex mid to large size projects within HR

• Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills to all employees including senior management.

• Ability to handle complicated employee relations issues including, for example, discrimination claims, sexual harassment investigations and downsizing.

• Ability to coach, guide, manage and develop Country HRDs.

• Ability to effectively delegate work as appropriate and provide individual goals and development plans to staff.

• The ability to work collaboratively is critical.



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• Four year college degree with emphasis in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or other related field.

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in multinational Human Resources Management with experience in HR Management, Rewards and Development.

• At least 2-3 years experience in HR in Asia Pacific region.

• Overseas experience is preferred.

• Proven strategic HR business partner, with experience supporting business partners and contributing to the further development of global HR tools and programs

• Experience leading HR team on acquisition/divestiture and integration of a new organization is a plus.

• Fluent reading and writing Chinese and English.
