Title: Retail Head

Report to GM



Key responsibilities include:

Purpose:

• Deliver Retail KPI in the affiliate

• Drive operational improvements in store performance through the utilization of key retail systems, processes, and tools developed by the region; effective management of third-party relationships, and continuous sharing of best practices across APD.

• Provide analytical expertise to support execution of retail strategy; analytical focus will be on identifying areas for operational improvements and developing optimal business/operating model



Retail Development Strategic Planning:

a) Partner with Affiliate key stakeholders and APD Retail Director in the development of Affiliate Retail Strategic Business Plan and Annual Operating Plan that drives retail productivity and profitability improvement, customer service excellence, equity and revenue growth from retail operations.

b) Align Affiliate Retail operations standards and measures on KPI’s, store locations, store sizes, formats and systems with APD.

c) Achievement of the budget performance for the controlled retail channel.



Franchisee Management:

 Ensure retail operations managers will collaboratively plans and sets targets with franchisee (small individual franchisees) or set targets for each owned & operated store and monitor their delivery in close cooperation with the Retail partner and /or Store manager.

 Lead retail operations managers to build and maintain effective relationship with external retail partners to support business objectives through the delivery of agreed operating standards



Store Development Planning & Management



• Lead the store development team to ensure that they follow the store development principles/processes/templates which are aligned to the global retail format & brand positioning

• Ensure the store development team to source for best suppliers/price and create strong partnerships to ensure economies of scale and cost reduction. Ensure that all store design and fixtures standards are aligned to the global retail format.

• Review and approve all layout plans for store openings and store upgrades prior to implementation

• Drive retail presentation and store navigation enhancements



1. Excellent Execution in Retail Development:

a) Ensure implementation of all elements of the retail strategy in line with APD guidelines and standards.

b) Reviews doors against defined ground rules and parameters and determines store grades

c) Ensure innovative and effective VM presentation consistently across all retail stores while ensuring executional differences to meet local target consumer and location needs.

d) Ensure right product assortment in line with Brand architecture and target consumer.

e) Ensure our store presentation reflect our Brand Value proposition and is in line with APD specification.

f) Ensure excellent Retail service in all stores, meeting Mystery Shopper target levels.

g) Drives development of store staff development and service through retail training

h) Provide direction and partnership to achieve targeted store productivity and profitability.

i) Support initiatives for regional/global leveraging of best practices



2. Retail Performance:

a) Implement consistent and sustainable performance measures across all the Retail stores.

b) Identify opportunities and drive the development and implementation of new and/or improvement plans as needed.

c) Monitor and analyze retail performance; provide retail expertise to improve retail profitability and productivity.

d) Facilitate problem resolution and operational improvement within the affiliate; provide feedback to APD Retail as necessary



3. Team Capability Development:

a) Ensure communication and alignment of strategy and execution with APD Retail team.

b) Define and develop Affiliate wholesale and retail capability.

c) Partner with IT in ensuring excellent Retail systems support.



Key Relationships: VP - APD Retail Operations, B&M Team, Marketing, Demand Planning, Distribution (including Customer Services), Finance,

Experience:

• 10+ years of significant experience in Retailing operations management; College degree or above

• Retailing skills; Understanding of apparel retail business, solid knowledge of retail math

• Understanding of Customer Business Development, Category Management concept and key components

• Knowledge of store planning and implementation practices

• Solid understanding of products and competitive environment

• Management of franchisee relations

• Understanding of Marketing and Brand management

• Basic knowledge of POS systems
