Position: Process Manager
Report to: API Technology Director
Requirements:
1.PhD in Organic/Organometallic Chemistry from a reputed Institute/University
2.Years of experience in organic synthesis and process development in Agrochemical/Pharmaceuticals or Fine Chemicals in an industrial research laboratory or a Chinese Government Laboratory.
3.Supervisory experience with technical personnel in an organic chemistry laboratory with demonstrated leadership skills.
4.Possesses a good knowledge of both classical and instrumented analytical techniques particularly chromatography and spectroscopy and has ability to understand and interpret output from such analyses.
5.Possesses working knowledge of statistical design of experiments.
6.Has an appreciation of basic engineering principles and can incorporate them into the design of lab experiments.
7.Has thorough knowledge of product costing and its use in development of chemical process routes.
8.Project Management Skills.
9.Possesses adequate computer skills.
10.Strong self-motivated.
Accountabilities:
1.Lead process chemist to deliver new process routes for target molecules within cost and time targets both at laboratory and pilot scale as per API`s need.
2.Lead process team to support pilot and plant operations.
3.Lead process team to provide technical support to other sites per request.
4.Supervise process team and evaluate their performance.
5.Plan the research development work so that the targeted time and cost dimensions of the research projects are met.
6.Manage the process laboratory within planned capital and revenue budget.
7.Keep API regularly updated on the progress of the research through formal reports/memos.
8.Ensure that the knowledge and intellectual property, which belongs to API, is adequately protected through systemic and behavioral means.
9.Ensure that standards of safety, health, environment and Responsible Care implemented and sustained in all activities.
10.Maintain a working knowledge of the Chinese chemical industry.
11.Develop and maintain contacts with Chinese R&D organizations
