Title: Senior Test Manager/Lead

Job Description:
The Legal and Corporate Affairs IT organization is looking for a top-caliber Senior Test Manager to build a world-class testing organization in the Microsoft IT - China development center. In this position, you will be responsible for 1) managing the career development of the test members, 2) building a global test partnership with Redmond, and 3) working closely with project teams to deliver on time, state-of-the-art business solutions.
As the LCAIT Senior Test Manager in the China, you will initially be tasked with defining the hiring strategy for the test organization and then interviewing/selecting/mentoring a team of highly motivated/skilled professionals. On all assigned projects, you will drive for timely completion of test milestones/deliverables following standard processes. In the senior manager role, you must have excellent teaming skills to resolve conflicts in a positive manner, effectively communicate on project status/issues, and demonstrate leadership in a collaborative global teaming environment. Must exhibit strong enthusiasm for the testing discipline!
Job Responsibilities and Deliverables:
Line Manager
• Manage a test team that encourages creativity and global teaming.
• Hire, grow, and mentor a test team that develops technical/functional depth of the business systems.
• Manage the overall testing capacity in terms of resources and budget for LCAIT’s projects in China.
• Collaborate with Redmond team members in developing strong global team relationships.
• Partner with peers in Redmond Management team to align organizational goals/strategy and support a strong Management team.
Test Leader
• Partner with Redmond test leaders to define and implement test strategies and policies for the global team.
• Provide leadership in key testing technologies - automation, code coverage, and security testing.
• Drive success of testing team on completing quality deliverables on-time and within budget, while following SDLC and LCAIT’s best practices.
– including test plans, test schedules, status reporting, triage, database testing, gap analysis, etc.
• Ensure testing team provides insightful feedback on project SDLC deliverables.
• Support testing team in reporting risks and tracking quality metrics.
• Build effective relationships with the Microsoft IT Engineering Center of Excellence (COE) communities to leverage and share best practices.
• As a COE leader, align with Microsoft IT on SDLC and ASAP (security) standards, tools, processes, and practices.
Qualifications:
• B.A. / B.S. in technical degree - information systems, software engineering, computer science, or related field
• 8+ years overall industry experience in project delivery of computer systems.
• 5+ years in leadership positions in software testing/development of complex business solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team of test engineers.
• Experience with software engineering processes, testing methodologies, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to plan, budget, schedule, solve roadblocks, anticipate issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Mastery of English and Chinese languages and business cultures.
• Experience working in global team environment with companies in the United States.
• Teaming skills: Collaborative leadership; excellent problem solving; Sound conflict resolution skills.
• Technical skills: Write complex SQL queries; identify errors in SQL code; analyze code changes to drive out bugs; install multi-tier software systems and troubleshoot issues; SQL Administration / C# / xml / test automation;
• Security knowledge of SQL injection and cross-site scripting.
