In my view, the Risk Management will have a long way to go in China. Beside the primitive Risk Management practices in the banking, security, and insurance, the hardest part is to fully understand the local needs and control local intelligence.
A lone-term view with considerable investment is critical for the major success in China. Finding strategic partners in the niche market is the starter. If your consulting firm is just shooting the lucrative fees, well, then just try your best. Without an array of integrations and patient talents, you may find the sky-high-profit is just another air garden.
My friends and I have worked on the Risk Management field in Greater China for more than 2 years. We all have advanced degrees and special expertise (top schools or best firms in the public’s eyes), and know tons of influential bankers, investors, company chairmen, and government officials (in Wall Street as well as HK, Taipei, Shanghai, etc.). However, we are still in the early investment stage for our long-term strategic goal. The major inflection point of the S-curve for the sales and profits is schedule to come within 1-2 years. We do work hard and enjoy every small-steady progress every week.
