还是海归吧，毕竟是中国人啊，呵呵。
我想，我们也没有必要跟在后面瞎起哄。跟着洋人，显得自己聪明。
第一，即使在归网，很多人的英语写作水平大概还不如LUCY
第二，如果不是伦敦人起哄（其中还应该含有对美国公司/文化/收入的不满），你能觉察到或预见到LUCY的EMAIL会有这么大的、文化上的冲突吗？
作为学习案例，倒是值得研究。希望在英国的朋友帮忙分析分析，这其中的中英文化差异。

I agree with Flutter. The City is absolutely rammed with the most pretentious, precocious and obnoxious that Oxford produces each year, plenty if not most of whom at least THINK about their acquaintances in exactly the way that Lucy's 'arrival times' suggests. Her crime was just to be stupid enough to write it down, and since plenty of the people laughing at her are undoubtedly braying dickheads who will go far in the banking industry in spite of it, it seems hypocritical to penalise her for it when she's probably not even as bad as they are.
To be honest, actually, I really didn't think it was THAT funny, apart from the arrival times - a lot of the other stuff I thought sounded like someone with a not perfect grasp of the subtleties conveyed by certain phrasings of the English language (the narcissistic preoccupation with lavish generosity demonstrated in the repetition of 'it's all on me' etc.), which isn't that surprising if she's a) an engineer and b) of foreign background (?); and like someone making the kind of joke that gets made in Oxbridge all the time about upper class stuff. Granted, not my kind of joke, but there's a large group of Oxonians including the cokehead Bridge/Union-if-certain-candidates-win-president-and-hold-big-drinks-parties crowd who get off on doing that kind of stuff 'ironically'.
A lot of whom end up in the City.
Unless this girl really is that bad. Otherwise, shouldn't these guys be working for their ridiculous salaries rather than attempting the record for world's most forwarded email with generically bland 'ha ha you gotta read this' comments?
