China will not follow Japan's footsteps in this regard. However, rmb is slowly but surely appreciating against us$ for the time being. For how long and how much? I have no idea but it depends on the Chinese economy in general and its trade balance with America in particular. People simply cannot afford to ignore the pressure from the largest trade partner even just from a business point of view.
