Typical view for many...with a salary job and on a 9-5 schedule in the Valley.
It is also typical for many who just spend a limited amount of time in China and most of time in US.
As soon as you go back more and stay in China longer, say 3-6 month, trying to earn a living there, your point of view might change.
At the same time, to get rid of the borning life or depression:
Try to love your job, not just do it for money
Learn something to improve yourself
Exercise and do sports with friends
Start a company and create jobs, not just draw a salary
and finally
"Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish" - Steve Jobs
May I also suggest you read Steve Jobs' speech at Standford, about life, deal with cancer, deal with failure and success.
