With its boardwalk, beaches, yachts, university, surfers, lighthouse, gays and lesbians, Santa Cruz is the best town to visit in the Bay Area.

A little north of the town reside tens of thousands of elephant seals, at the ano nuevo state reserve. That's the only site on earth where you can see such huge sea animals trying to reproduce themselves. The season is now, till march. Make reservations before you go.
