I do not know your specific situation, but if you have ties to Chinese Academy of Sciences, here is a list of elementary schools that you might want to consider:
1.中关村一小
2.中关村er小
3.中关村san小
As regards to pre-schools,
I know several pre-schools associated with Chinese Academy of Sciences are reasonablely good, and the price is fair. For example, you might need to to pay a slight premium for your kids who are treated as foreigners. Roughly, for a local kid, the tuition is 500-600 Yuan/month and for your kid, it is somewhere between 800-1000 Yuan/month. The only problem is of course, it is not the ideal bi-lingual education.
My impression is that there is not many schools in existence that bridge the gap between local schools and international schools. Thus, very difficult to find quality schools that charge three or four times more than local schools, while still being much cheaper than international schools. Most of the private schools are not regulated and it may appear to have good hardwares( furniture, toys etc.), but not necessarily the good teachers.
