Overall in the world market, these brands in the article are the ones mostly aimed at the mass affluent, not the super wealth.
Companies such as Cartier, Tiffany, Rolex, Dior, Prada etc make most their profits from their low and medium range product lines with good volume.
For example, Tiffany's profit margins from low end silver jewelry line are among highest in all of its products and a major contributor to its over all profit.
In China, however, the concept of luxury, like many other things, is again twisted. Brands such as Levi's, Polo/RalphLauren, etc are considered luxury. Tiffany, Cartier are ultra-luxury for the super wealth.
Tiffany's stores in China does not even carry its low end lines at all, for the image sake.
