“歐元和日圓不太可能取代美元成為世界貨幣，只有人民幣可以和美元一爭天下。“ As a matter of fact Euro and Japanese yen are becoming a part of the basket of the reserve currencies for some countries as opposed to the US$ only foreign reserves. They cannot replace US$ for any foreseeable future. Also, right now Euro is too expensive and it is not wise for any country to load its reserve with Euro; on the other hand, US$ is losing its value fast. Only a mixture of several currencies is the best option. For any world reserve currency people are looking for two things: 1)liquidity; 2)keep long term value. Is RMB qualified yet? the answer is no. Maybe 10 years or 20 years later? Without a time frame, 只有人民幣可以和美元一爭天下 只是一句空话。 For now RMB needs to be convertible freely in the world market as a first step, a baby step only. Can this be done within one year?
