Yoko Ono has a wealthy new neighbor at the Dakota on Central Park West.
Ping Jiang, a managing director at SAC Capital Management, has paid $16.5 million for a seventh-floor two-bedroom apartment of approximately 4,000 square feet, which is just down the hall from Mrs. Lennon. The seller is a living trust in the name of Frank and Angel Lupo.
Other residents in the building include Lauren Bacall, Connie Chung and Maury Povich.
Jiang, a former director at Lehman Brothers, won't have far to move, since he presently lives a few blocks south on Central Park West.
Over at the Dakota, at 72nd Street and Central Park West, Ping Jiang, a trader with SAC Capital Partners, a hedge fund with offices in Stamford, Conn., paid $16.5 million for a 4,000-square-foot co-op with a den, living room and two bedrooms facing Central Park.
Mr. Jiang presumably had no trouble meeting the co-op’s financial standards. He is on the list of the top 100 traders in the current issue of Trader Monthly magazine, with an estimated income more than $100 million last year.
