There is a big cultural difference in what date means. Chinese may make a clear difference between date and s*x. The western people don't.
Chinese may feel being cheated because they are marriage-minded. But those western guys are more s*x-oriented. I guess most of them never meant to cheat. It's mostly misunderstanding.
On the other hand, I don't think that early or late s*x has much bearing in establishing a long lasting relationship.
