Key Roles and Responsibilities
Key resources at Platform Center of Excellence- based on established strategy for SAP China, drive business development and provide technical and application support for BPP/ESA/NetWeaver. Work as an SOA/Platform advocate, communicate the value and showcase the success to sales, partners and customers to drive adoption of ESA based solutions. Discuss with presales/sales to position Platform solutions for account planning, and establish plans to engage prospect customers. Work with presales/sales to define the prospect's business requirements, needs, and objectives, develop Platform road maps and solutions that address prospect’s business needs. Creates product demonstrations that exemplify how SAP Platform solutions can provide values and best meet the requirements and provides answer to inquiries concerning system software and applications. Provides continuous correspondence with the business prospect to reinforce and sell the value of the SAP Platform solutions and provides further clarification to the prospect through follow-up phone calls and additional demonstrations. Conduct training for customers and internal staff and deliver presentations at organized events to promote Platform and other SAP emerging solution
Focused effort to drive selling of platform solutions – This involves the sale of Software Technology tools centered around SAP’s Business Process Platform strategy, i.e. middleware, BPM, portals, development tools, PI, and MI. In certain larger markets
• Sales Support – Key architect of SAP’s platform solutions that meet customer business requirements and that addresses the business benefits that the prospect aims to derive from an SAP implementation. Works collaboratively with the AEs to make sales. Work with Field Services to ensure that the solution, when implemented, will meet the prospects’ expectations. Delivers demos and POCs.
• Customer Relationships – Develop an in-depth knowledge of key customers and understand the value they derive from the implementation of the SAP solutions. Develop trusted advisor status with select customers to gain a solid understanding of the customer needs. Interact with Overlay Sales AEs & other SAs to develop effective, ongoing product, solution & skills development within the sales units. Leverage the above in customer testimonials and references.
• Thought Leadership – Establish credibility and confidence in the platform solution set. Serve as champion and provide knowledge transfer to other industry sales & pre sales & field services colleagues. Create value through participation at tradeshows, industry events, SAP User Groups and SAPPHIRE. Publish articles and white papers for trade periodicals.
Marketing and Partner Support – Provide content to Marketing & Alliances to ensure proper support for related marketing campaigns and partner events. Provide market intelligence on competitors to the SAP Competitive Intelligence Network. Assist Alliances to define SAP’s requirements within the partner community. Assist Alliances to develop partner mind share and competencies. Work collaboratively with partners to ensure appropriate content is integrated into solution demonstrations. Develop strategic relationships / network with partners within the segment as needed.
Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
• In-depth knowledge in areas of NetWeaver solution architecture and middleware applications
• Familiarity with technology and application issues/solutions faced by enterprise IT in today’s business environments
• At least three years of hands-on experience in business development, pre-sales, project implementation or consulting working for a multinational company
• Thorough understanding of SOA and the relevant standards and technologies
• Competent in software development in Java, and/or middleware/BPM
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Strong technical skills to build custom demos and run POCs
• Highly motivated and proactive and can work under deadline and pressure
• 5 years pre-sales or technical consulting experience in platform/middleware related areas
• Industry credentials (eg. certified Java, BI, etc.) prefered
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related area is generally required
