Rockefeller Creates PE Fund in China with Target Size of US$2B

Rose Rock (Tianjin) PE Investment Fund Management Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Rose Rock Capital LLC under Rockefeller’s family and Tianjin New Financial Investment Co., Ltd., announced its establishment in Beijing on Aug.8, 2011 which is the first time for Rockefeller’s family to invest in China in the way of PE.
It is learnt that Rockefeller will take parallel operations of RMB fund and USD fund in China and plans to complete round A financing by the end of this year at a predicted size of RMB5B out of the total final size of US$2B (including fundraising in RMB and USD). The raised capital will be mainly invested in the construction of Rose Rock Financial Center, a commercial property project in Yujiapu, Tianjin, as well as a number of infrastructures, educational and cultural projects. It is expected that these projects will be commenced before the end of 2011.
In Jun. 2010, Rockefeller participated in the development of Qinglonghu International Cultural City in Fengtai District, Beijing in conjunction with Beijing Xin Hong Ji Real Estate Co., Ltd. and Oriental Group (Stock Code: 600811). Rose Rock Financial Center is the second commercial project invested by Rockefeller in China.
