This really reminds me about those Wall Streeters. Three days after 《The Passion of The Christ》was released in US, they calculated the cost and expected earning for Mel Gibson. After Mel Gibson failed to convince any investors (The person like you) and sale his idea, he just exhausted all his personal fortune (roughly $30M) for this movie. The interviewed movie industry analyst from Wall Street then laid out how much Mel Gibson could expect: $xxxx from US box office; $xxxx from following DVD release/rental; $xxxx from overseas’ audience; $xxxx from royalty; and set aside every Eastern Day, Christmas Day etc. The final pre-tax figure is between $300M and $350M. In a very professional way, those money managers (same as you) figured out the expected cash-flow Mel Gibson might pocket, while Mel Gibson himself may not be really interesting in that money.
