I just think there is no enough info. to tell what benefits Siemens will get from this acquisition. 1st posibility is S is suffering problems with cash flow or pressure on profitability, and hence stock price, in the Mobile phone division. By selling this loss-making division things would get better, partly like IBM sells the PC division to Lenovo. 2nd, it is said that the 250M Euro is not cash dominated, some are services, some are goodwills, so who knows how much it is really worth. 3rdly, it might be quite trick and interesting that what Siemens will gain with the 50M Euro in exchange of the Benq stocks.
and u`d better ask those HUGE/SUPER Turtles who surely know much more.
