It takes way too long to get a suit to the U.S. from China.
I actually talked with a friend in Beijing about this idea a year ago. He is planning to start a custom-made shirt business which puts your initials on the sleeves of your shirt.
My idea at the time is, shipping between China and Japan is relatively faster, even if the suit has to make two roundtrips. If suits aren't a good candidate, maybe shirts are.
To save labor cost at the client site, which involves measurement, we can store the customer's information in the database for future use. Unless the customer's size changed, no measurement needs to be done on-site.
My friend has ties with the textile/clothing industry. So if this idea ever takes off, I'd like to help if I'm allowed.
