The hungry part seems clear...don't settle, keep looking for things that excite you, that are interesting to you. Keep the hunger for that, find a job in which you are hungry about doing what you are doing.
The foolish part is less clear. I think it does recommend an element of humility. Be humble. Like you guys said. Don't worry if you get fired, don't feel that it is an insult to your pride, don't think that it is the end of the world for you. Its not such a big deal. But I also think that it contains something eles, the admonition "stay foolish" not only means "don't take yourself too seriously" but also, "don't take others too seriously" and "don't take convention too seriously." Be willing to be foolish. Moreover, since being foolish is a status that is defined not just by one's actions alone, but by how society VIEWS those actions, the advice to stay foolish necessarily (in my opinion) also includes advice not to pay excessive respect to the sometimes arbitrary norms of society. Be willing to do things that others think are foolish. Be willing to do things that don't fall within convention. For example, dropping out of college. If it is the right thing for you, do it. Don't just stay in college because convention says you should stay in college. Most people would say dropping out of college is "foolish" but in some cases (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs) it is actually the best thing....
