is to monitor the participation of retail investors, the lack of participation
from retail investors is certainly indication that the stock/investment
has still lots of room to grow. But just because retail investor has
joined does not necessarily mean we are at the top yet, the craze
may last longer than what you may think is possible.
I am hugely bullish on biotech companies which can be immensely
profitable if you ride/add with the winner. One way to unlock those
gems is to track stock reaching 52-wk highs, market cap must be
between $500 mil and $10 bil, company must have a number of
drugs in the pipeline preferrably with an alliance with a major pharma
company and some candidate already in phase II. This industry
will blossom regardless of interest rate, recession, war, etc. To track
retail interest in the stock, simply look at the number of posts on yahoo
message boards. Keep the investment within about 15% of your total
asset so you can sleep well at night.
