In recent months I just happen to really enjoy reading up on the history of India, topics like (citizen)Tipu Sultan, the British East India Company, the formation of modern day India and the 'partition', relations between India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, modern day political parties, relations between the Hindus, the Sikhs, the Muslims, and came to appreciate and respect India despite the backward infrastructure and fatalistic attitute of the lower castes. Totally different value orientation compared to what's represented by the skycrapers in Pudong, and I felt enlightened to be able to appreciate both China and India for what they are.
