The car ownership cost is about the same as the US. But the maintaince cost is dame cheap. I had a mechanic friend who fixes my car. If i have any problem with my car, he shows up and takes care of it. I do not even drive to his shop。 He picks up where I leave it. His cost is very reaonable. I know that he makes a bit here and there by jecking up the price for spare parts. But that is totally acceptable when he picks up my car for free.
If your kids are going to public schools in the US, why do you have to send them to private international schools in China? Public schools in China is dame cheap. I always wonder how the hell the school teachers make a living on that kind of tuition. I think that Tsinghua 附中is about the same or even better than the top private international schools in China.
Seriously sick? What is the difference of being sick in China vs. in the US? When I had no insurance in the US, an emergency visit cost me $900 +. I could have done the same visit in China for less than 100 yuan.
