suppliers in China. The Chinese suppliers have been with me for more than 15 years. Sometimes the new potential suppliers contacted me with almost half prices what I paid, but I still stay with my old suppliers. This is a matter of trust. (money is not everything; I heard that before ) N years ago I used letter of credit, but the banks charged me more and more so I abandoned it. Also, L/C closes the deals ba<x>sed on the correct documents. As long as the paperworks are done right, the bank releases the funds, no matter actually if the goods are of high quality. The bank does not care and the bank does not have any way of quality control over the goods purchased. So I switched to 50% down with the orders; the suppliers/mft. shipped me the goods within the promised delivery dates. The balance payment will be released until the goods arrived and quality control checked. My logic is I trust the suppliers with 50% down; in return for this, the suppliers got to trust me with the goods with balance collected later. The feeling must be mutural!! So far it works out alright for me.
Personally I cannot stress more about the importance of the quality of any goods made-in-China. If the quality is compromised, to me the goods are just trash, no matter how inexpensive they are. I have told my suppliers all the time. Because I am the one responsible for the finished equipment sold here; the companies in China only supply me some passive electronic components.
On the other hand, I hate double standards. Someone got total recall and hanged himself and others "were laughing all the way to banks" after exporting the junky financial products worth billions of billions of dollars globally and very likely they are getting away from it. If so, the history will repeat itself. Many ordinary people in the related segments are getting laid off due to this financial fiasco and they could not pay their mortgages anymore so more foreclosures on the way.
Sorry, 跑题了 无轨电车。
