Thanks for your reply!
I may have a typo in my post. What I mean "I have not touched it (not IT)", is telecommunication (my MS major in China is "Communication and Electronics Systems". Sorry for this confusion.
Although my MS major was in this EE area in China, I spent more time in database development later on (at that time, database dev was so popular that I can easily get extra money even when I was a student -- of course, the reputation of my university also helped a lot).
My BS degree in ME and strong background in database triggered my idea in ERP when I was taking the Supply Chain Management class. I even took a look at the design of an ERP package. Its design follows what is already in my mind. Plus, the finance and accounting modules are just used what I have learned recently.
As far as system architect, this is my title. I design the different modules, assign to different people, monitor and report progresses to upper level people, etc.
Actually, I know that I can be a IT manager (even 5 years ago, I already took a team to develop). But as age goes up, I am not sure I can still working that hard with my group members in the late night. After all, I am not as young as before... That is why I am confused about the future... More hints ?...
