1st off, congratulations on your YHOO holding if you still have it.
To play a bull trend options strategy, I think AMD is a good candidate for the following reasons.
1. AMD's products are holding up well against it main rival Intel, especially in powerful CPUs for gamers. There is no major AAPL threat there.
2. Its LEAP volumn is pretty good, so you can trade a relatively large position
3. The down side is there, but the beauty of a bull spread is that it has a natural hedge built in. The short leg of the spread, the high strike call you sell, will increase in value if ADM continues to drop while your long leg loses value.
4. Watch the call/put ratio and the premium on the 15 / 17.5 options on near term AMD to get a sense where the market's trend lies. Consider use a 3-6 month 15 put as an additional hedge if necessary. If AMD holds up and a up trend starts on the stock, remove the hedge.
